For more than two decades, we have devoted ourselves exclusively to Golden Retrievers. Every litter represents years of experience, careful pedigree research, and a commitment to producing dogs that excel as loving family companions while maintaining the breed’s correct structure, movement, and classic Golden Retriever temperament.

Meet Alejandro Lima

Maximus Goldens was founded by Alejandro Lima, an AKC Breeder of Merit whose passion for Golden Retrievers has grown into one of the most respected breeding programs in the United States.

Alejandro is deeply involved in preserving and promoting the sport of purebred dogs. He proudly serves as:

  • President of the Greater Miami Dog Club

  • Board Member of the Fort Lauderdale Dog Club

  • Board Member of the Everglades Golden Retriever Club

His involvement extends far beyond breeding. Through dog shows, breeder education, mentoring, and collaboration with respected breeders across the country, Alejandro remains committed to preserving the Golden Retriever according to the standards established by the Golden Retriever Club of America.

Our Breeding Philosophy

Every breeding at Maximus Goldens is carefully planned—not simply to produce puppies, but to improve the breed.

When selecting a sire and dam, we carefully evaluate:

  • Health clearances

  • Temperament

  • Structure and movement

  • Pedigree compatibility

  • Genetic diversity

  • Longevity within the bloodline

  • Overall contribution to the future of the breed

Health Comes First

The long-term health of every puppy is our highest priority.

All of our breeding dogs complete the health testing recommended by the Golden Retriever Club of America, including:

  • OFA or PennHIP Hip Evaluation

  • OFA Elbow Certification

  • Annual CAER Eye Examination

  • OFA Cardiac Examination performed by a Board-Certified Veterinary Cardiologist

  • DNA testing for hereditary diseases

These evaluations allow us to make responsible breeding decisions while helping reduce the risk of inherited conditions for future generations.

Raising Puppies the Right Way

The first eight weeks of a puppy’s life are critical in shaping its future.

Our puppies are raised inside our home, where they receive daily love, handling, socialization, and exposure to everyday household experiences.

We focus on building confident, emotionally stable puppies through:

  • Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS)

  • Age-appropriate socialization

  • Exposure to children and adults

  • Household sounds and everyday activities

  • Confidence-building experiences

  • Individual temperament evaluations

Our goal is for every puppy to leave us well prepared to thrive in its new home.
